Meeting between NRSCC and ESA Delegation on Galileo Cooperation

On October 30, Dr. Jing Guifei, Deputy Director of National Remote Sensing Center of China, met with a ESA Delegation headed by Mr. René Oosterlinck, ESA Director of the Galileo Programme and Navigation-related Activities. The two sides held a friendly and in-depth discussion on the China-EU Galileo Cooperation and CENC activities and working plan. Zhao Jing, head of Navigation Department, NRSCC, Shui Min, and Karl Bergquist, officer on Galileo Programme, ESA, were present at the meeting.

Both Jing and Oosterlinck spoke highly of the fruitful achievements during the In-orbit Validation phase (IOV) of Galileo Cooperation. The two parties exchanged views on the Compatibility and Interoperability between Compass and Galileo system, as well as the MOU of the following cooperation on Galileo.

Finally, Zhao Jing introduced the late work of CENC, and summarized the successful experience of CENC on the communication and training cooperation between China and EU. Mr. Oosterlinck highly appraised the achievements CENC achieved in the past, and further indicated that the two sides could continuously expand the communication and cooperation to other fields, for example, post-graduation training plan, China-EU communication plan on innovation projects R&D, and so on.
