On March 22, 2007, VICE MINISTER, Jianlin Cao, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China interviewed the European delegacy and emphasized the significance and urgency for China to join the GSA and GOC. In the meeting , both sides gave a positive evaluation to the establishment of CENC in Beijing and agreed to continue to support it. On March 21-22, 2007, China-Europe Galileo cooperation meeting sponsored jointly by NRSCC and ESA was held at CENC. Mr.J.Benedicto introduced in the meeting that the Galileo system would be fully in place by 2012, and the second experimental satellite GIOVE-B would be launched by the end of this year. The related ground equipment is being built. Chinese delegates reported the last year's work and next year's plan. The proposals for training courses and relevant activities on GNSS and Earth Observation by the Navigation Center will be taken into account by ESA .Finally, both sides discussed in detail on the China-Europe Galileo cooperation project-EEG, and decided to coordinate the start up of this project recently. In the meanwhile , ESA will compile the task proposal for the cooperation project of Receiver and Chip Research as soon as possible.
