Pedro Pedreira

Pedro Pedreira became Executive Director of the European GNSS Supervisory Authority (GSA) in July 2005. At the time of his nomination by the GSA Administrative Board, Mr Pedreira was Director of Business Development at Portugal Telecom. He started his career in C.P.R. Marconi, the Portuguese operator for satellite communications, and joined the European Telecommunications Satellite Organisation (Eutelsat) in 1982, having participated in the deployment of the first and second generations of the Eutelsat space and ground segments. In 1993, he returned to C.P.R. Marconi as Director of R&D (C.P.R.M. was later incorporated into the Portugal Telecom Group). Mr Pedreira holds a degree in electrical engineering, an MBA and a Master's Degree in management.
