The Remote Sensing Centre of China organized the group of Mr. René Oosterlinck to visit CETC54

The Remote Sensing Centre of China organized the group of Mr. René Oosterlinck, ESA Director of the Galileo Programme and Navigation-related Activities, (hereafter refer to as CETC54) on Dec 21st , 2010, in order to review the projects progress of China-EU Galileo Cooperation Program and see their research abilities in the field of satellite navigation. Mr. Wang Feng, assistant director of CETC54, and Mr. Yu Baoguo, vice chief engineer of CETC54 were accompanied throughout the visit. The brief introduction of CETC54 and its research and development status in the field of satellite navigation, especially the progress of CGTR project and GMR project in the framework of China-EU Galileo Cooperation Program were made to Mr. Oosterlinck. After that, they visited the Hebei Satellite Navigation Technologies and Equipment Engineering Technology Research Centre, the web server and maintain centre of China-Europe GNSS Technology Training and Cooperation Centre, part equipments of CGTR project and Yuandong Huaqiang Navigation and Positioning Cooperation. Mr. Oosterlinck expressed his appreciation for the fruitful achievements of CGTR project and gave high praise to the scientific research ability of CTEC54 in the field of satellite navigation. He also introduced the current status of Galileo Program and its construction plan in the following years. The further discussion on how the Chinese industries participate in Galileo procurement contract and other issues was made between both sides. It is expected that such visits between Chinese and European scientists arranged by NRSCC could further promote the cooperation with European Space Agency in the field of satellite navigation. |
