about CENC
China-Europe GNSS Technology Training and Cooperation Center (CENC) is constructed by
Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), European Commission (EC) and European Space Agency (ESA). The center is
established at the National Remote Sensing Center of China (NRSCC), an authorized organization of MOST. The Secretary General
of MOST, Mr. Dinghuan Shi, and the European Commission Director General for Energy and Transport, Mr. Francois Lamoureux
attended the inauguration ceremony of CENC on Sept. 19th, 2003. The opening of CENC is an important step of the cooperation
between China and Europe in Galileo Program. CENC serves as a window and a link for the cooperation such as technology
training, communication and experts’ exchange between Chinese and European GNSS industry and academe.CENC locates in
“silicon valley” area of China and is surrounded by famous universities and high-tech enterprises. CENC has conference and
training rooms for technical conferences, training courses and negotiations. The website of CENC (http://www.cenc.org.cn)
serves as an important platform to exchange information for China and Europe navigation knowledge communication.
Its main tasks are:
- to provide network support service for China-Europe joint research and business
activities related to GNSS;
- to serve as an activity center for GNSS related events;
- to provide information regarding China-Europe GNSS Projects;
- to coordinate China-Europe joint research activities for GNSS application
development;
- to organize GNSS training classes;
- to support other ad-hoc and professional activities in the area of GNSS in
China.
